Our Beginnings . . .

The first organizational meeting of the West Texas Bluegrass/Traditional Music Association was held Jan. 26, 2007.

Goals are to provide a group setting for acoustic musicians to get together on a regular basis to jam in a family atmosphere.

Nestled in the lovely surroundings of the Hillcrest Golf Course, Hillcrest Country Club offers a spacious ballroom and smaller side rooms for lots of jamming opportunity.

Who we are . . .

We're Family-Oriented --
No alcohol. Smoking in designated areas only. Smoke-free jam/concert areas.

We're Accoustic --
No amps. No mikes. Just perfect, natural blance & blending.

We're All Ages and Levels of Ability --
You're welcome to find your comfort level in advanced or smaller beginner group jams.

We're Traditional Music of All Kinds --
We're not just Bluegrass . . . but also everything Traditional -- including Celtic, Folk, Americana, Old-Time & Gospel.

We're Audience & Performers -- together.
Toe-Tappers and Tag-Alongs -- Don't stay home just because you don't play an instrument or sing. Come enjoy the music and socializing in the gracious Country Club facility. Drop-Ins and guests are always welcome.

We're About the Music --
We want to spend our time playing & enjoying music, not conducting business meetings. Our business sessions are conducted in committee and published on the web. Our Jams are devoted to music!

We're a Public, Open Jam --
Anyone is welcome as long as they abide by association rules and maintain appropriate conduct for a wholesome family environment.

We're FREE -- Well, at least . . . almost!
We request donations at the door to cover expenses. Feel free to give as you feel inclined. More generous gifts will allow the association to expand and to include even more music opportunities. Thanks for supporting the organization with your contributions!

WTB/TMA LEADERSHIP

An organizational meeting was first held in January 2007 to determine interest and community support for a bluegrass and traditional music association.
The formation of WTB/TMA was first undertaken by Hillcrest member and long-time local amateur musician Tommy Reece. Following the overwhelming show of public support at that initial get-together, the West Texas Bluegrass/Traditional Music Association was placed under the guidance of a Board of Directors:

Tommy Reece & wife Myra
Gene Swift & wife Virginia
Barry Tilley & wife Renee
Randy Redman & wife Nita
Ron Seacrist & wife Debra

REQUIRED WTB/TMA AUTHORIZATION:

All WTB/TMA sponsored events will be under the direction of the Board of Directors.
Without express signed, written prior approval by the board, no individual or group is authorized to represent WTB/TMA in any matters.
