West Texas Bluegrass/Traditional Music Association
Participation Requirements

In accordance with the West Texas Bluegrass / Traditional Music Association (WTB/TMA) goal to provide a FAMILY-ORIENTED environment, NO SMOKING is allowed except in separate, designated areas.  NO ALCOHOL OR ILLICIT DRUGS are permitted at our jams or meetings.  Anyone not maintaining family-appropriate behavior will be dismissed from WTB/TMA-sponsored activities.

ALL AGES AND LEVELS OF MUSICAL ABILITY are welcome to participate. Please acquaint yourself with "Jam How-To's" at the above tab.

We are traditional music of all kinds, not just bluegrass.  We welcome other traditional styles including Old-Time, Celtic, Folk, Americana, and Gospel.  We are strictly ACOUSTIC, which means NO AMPS OR ELECTRIC INSTRUMENTS OF ANY KIND.  NO DRUMS are permitted except for Celtic and other hand-played drums.  Our intent is to have a naturally balanced blend of instruments and voices.

We want to spend our time playing and enjoying music, not conducting business meetings.  Our business meetings are conducted by committee and information published on the WTB/TMA website.  Jams are reserved primarily for playing music.

NO DUES are charged at this time.  Financing for the association largely relies on CONTRIBUTIONS at the door from guests and members.  However, the Steering Committee reserves the right to re-assess this policy as future needs may dictate.

We primarily rely on email as a cost-effective means of communications. For that reason we make every effort to obtain a current email address from all our jam attendees. Other contact information is collected as a secondary means of contact only. Your assistance by providing us your email address is appreciated. We do not share email addresses with others and anyone can un-subscribe at any time. Email eliminates the necessity of incurring the time and expense of and printing and postage. If you can provide us your email address, it helps us to keep our jams on a donation-only basis and affordable for everyone. The more people we can reach with our email notices, the less cost involved for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in this effort.

MESSAGE FROM FOUNDER TOMMY REECE:

Soon after my wife Myra and I started plans to organize an association for the purpose of conducting regular monthly music  jams, we determined that leadership of the organization would include a Board of Directors. Joining us in that capacity are several well-known and accomplished bluegrass musicians and supporters.

Gene Swift and his wife Virginia -- Widely known throughout the region as long-time bluegrass music participants and supporters, Gene and Virginia bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the leadership. Gene is an avid guitar player and singer who has performed for many years with several groups, most recently Flatland Bluegrass Band. Gene and Virginia have a special heart for youngsters aspiring to learn music and they have encouraged many young musicians into bluegrass. We're extremely proud to have their very capable and faithful support of WTB/TMA goals.

Randy Redman and his wife Vanita -- Randy comes from a multi-generational musical family well-known throughout the region. Randy is a multi-instrumentalist with his primary instrument being the banjo. He is an accomplished sound technician as well. Randy's many talents, along with his special thoughtfulness for others, have proven invaluable to WTB/TMA.  His enthusiasm and exuberance for music is contageous!

Barry Tilley and his wife Renee -- Both are accomplished vocalists. Their beautiful harmonies grace our jams. Barry is also an avid guitar player and composer.  They are in the ministry, pastoring a large congregation. Their love for and wide acquaintance with gospel music enriches our gatherings. Their always upbeat and uplifting presence inspires and encourages all those around them.

Ron Seacrist and his wife Debra --   Ron is a multi-instrumentalist, prolific composer, and oft-requested singer at our jams.  He has many years experience as a performer. We appreciate so much his support of WTB/TMA goals.

We are so pleased that these individuals have agreed to give of their time and expertise to assist this association.

Tommy Reece, Founder WTB/TMA

Thanks again for your wonderful level of continuing financial support of WTB/TMA jams.
